“Translocal Modernist Magazines & Cultural Networks”: Second seminar of the cycle «Circulation and Materiality in New Transnational Modernist Studies: Translocal Networks, Archives and Journals», moderated by Patrícia Silva (CES), which intends to explore disciplinary intersections in the new modernist studies, with special focus on the materiality of paper and virtual modernist magazines and archives, on cultural mediation and on translocal networks of modernism.
Katia Pizzi is Senior Lecturer in Italian Studies at the Institute of Modern Languages Research (formerly Germanic & Romance Studies), School of Advanced Study, University of London, and Director of the Centre for the Study of Cultural Memory at that Institute. She has published 5 books and 64 articles and chapters in the UK and overseas on modern Italian literature and culture, including culture and literature at the north-eastern borders of Italy (especially Trieste), Italian Futurism, popular culture, children’s literature and illustration. Most recently: Pinocchio, Puppets and Modernity (New York: Routledge, 2012), winner of the Children’s Literature Association prize in 2012, and Cold War Cities: History, Culture and Memory, co-ed. M. Hietala (Oxford: Peter Lang, 2016). Her monograph Italian Futurism and the Machine is in the press (Manchester: Manchester University Press, forthcoming June 2019).
“Translocal Modernist Magazines & Cultural Networks”: segundo seminário do ciclo «Circulação e Materialidade nos Novos Estudos Modernistas Transnacionais: Redes Translocais, Arquivos e Revistas», dinamizado por Patrícia Silva (CES), que visa explorar interseções disciplinares nos novos estudos modernistas, com especial enfoque na materialidade de revistas e arquivos modernistas de papel e virtuais, na mediação cultural e nas redes translocais do modernismo.

Katia é autora de 5 livros e de 64 artigos e capítulos no RU e internacionalmente sobre literatura e cultura moderna italiana, incluindo cultura e literatura nas fronteiras do nordeste da Itália (especialmente Trieste), Futurismo Italiano, cultura popular, literatura e ilustração de crianças. Mais recentemente: Pinocchio, Puppets and Modernity (New York: Routledge, 2012), premiado pela Children’s Literature Association prize em 2012, e Cold War Cities: History, Culture and Memory, co-ed. M. Hietala (Oxford: Peter Lang, 2016). A sua monografia Italian Futurism and the Machine está no prelo (Manchester: Manchester University Press, Junho 2019).
