This closing session highlights the main ideas of the presentations at the conference: the importance of institutional details; the circulation of economic ideas, notably in its international context; the circulation and role of well positioned economists, their networks and access to funding; the two-way relationship between the making of economics and the economy; and the connections between academia and policy making circles. Finally, some examples on the case of Portugal, since the 1950s, are presented within this framework.

A sessão de encerramento destaca as principais ideias das intervenções: a importância dos detalhes institucionais; a circulação de ideias económicas, nomeadamente no seu contexto internacional; a circulação e o papel dos economistas bem posicionados, as suas redes e o acesso ao financiamento; a relação bidirecional entre a Economia e a economia; e as ligações entre o meio académico e os círculos de decisão política. Por último, alguns exemplos sobre o caso de Portugal, desde os anos 50, são apresentados dentro deste quadro.
