Alessandro Ferrara é professor de Filosofia Política na Universidade de Roma "Tor Vergata", e tem servido como presidente da Associação Italiana de Filosofia Política até 2010. Professor Ferrara licenciou-se em Filosofia em Itália em 1975 e recebeu o seu doutoramento da Universidade da Califórnia, em Berkeley em 1984. As suas publicações mais importantes são: "Force of theExample: Explorations in the Paradigm of Judgment", publicado pela Columbia University Press em 2008; "Justice and Judgment: The Rise and the Prospect of the Judgment Model in Contemporary Political Philosophy", publicado em 1999, e "Reflective Authenticity: Rethinking the Project of Modernity", publicado em 1998. Professor Ferrara está actualmente a preparar um livro cujo título provisório é "The Democratic Horizon: Openness, Hyperpluralism and the Renewal of Political Liberalism."

Alessandro Ferrara is Professor of Political Philosophy at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” and has served as President of the Italian Association for Political Philosophy until 2010. Professor Ferrara graduated in Philosophy in Italy in 1975 and he received his Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1984. His most prominent publications are: "The Force of the Example: Explorations in the Paradigm of Judgment", published by Columbia University Press in 2008; "Justice and Judgment: The Rise and the Prospect of the Judgment Model in Contemporary Political Philosophy", published in 1999 as well as "Reflective Authenticity: Rethinking the Project of Modernity", published in 1998. Professor Ferrara is currently preparing a book whose working title is "The Democratic Horizon: Openness, Hyperpluralism and the Renewal of Political Liberalism".
