O que teria o Ecofeminismo a nos dizer frente à destruição ambiental, animal e humana resultante da proliferação de um desenvolvimento capitalista capaz de nos matar como seres vivos? Ao afirmar a busca de uma reflexão para além da metafísica patriarcal já estou afirmando que a consideração da metafísica tradicional na sua versão capitalista tem significado a destruição de diferentes formas de vida. Ao querer alcançar ideais formais de desenvolvimento não só econômico, mas nas crenças políticas e religiosas desprezamos a realidade misturada e diversa em que vivemos. A metafísica é sempre para além da física, além da corporeidade real, da diversidade que sustenta a vida. Idealiza a essência, o masculino, o branco, o rico em detrimento da existência, do feminino, do multiétnico, das populações carentes. Por isso a partir do Ecofeminismo falo de uma ‘revolta metafísica’, revolta da parte feminina da humanidade, excluída e diminuída historicamente em direitos. Esta está buscando agora uma nova compreensão dos seres humanos na linha da relacionalidade e interdependência entre todas as formas de vida. A revolta metafísica toca também as religiões monoteístas, particularmente nas suas expressões teológicas patriarcais e tenta a partir delas desmantelar fundamentos religiosos que mantêm formas de exclusão e de dominação. Convida-nos a rever as doutrinas religiosas que podem ser tóxicas aos seres humanos e aos outros seres viventes na medida em que nos arranca da responsabilidade comum de não só cuidarmos uns dos outros/as, mas das diferentes formas de vida que tornam a Vida uma aventura de beleza e de mistério sem propriedade privada de ninguém.

Ecofeminism: Beyond Patriarchal Metaphysics

What would Ecofeminism have to say to us in the face of environmental, animal and human destruction resulting from the proliferation of a capitalist development capable of killing us as living beings? In affirming the pursuit of reflection beyond patriarchal metaphysics I am already stating that the consideration of traditional metaphysics in its capitalist version has meant the destruction of different forms of life. In wanting to achieve formal ideals regarding not only economic development, but also political and religious beliefs, we despise the mixed and diverse reality in which we live. Metaphysics is always beyond physics, beyond actual corporeality, the diversity that sustains life. It idealizes the essence, the masculine, the white, the rich at the expense of the existence of the feminine, the multiethnic, the impoverished populations. This is why from Ecofeminism I speak of a ‘metaphysical revolt’, revolt of the feminine part of humanity, historically excluded and diminished in its  rights. This ‘feminine parto of the humanity’ is now seeking a new understanding of human beings along the lines of relationality and interdependence of all life forms. Metaphysical revolt also touches monotheistic religions, particularly in their patriarchal theological expressions, and, from within them, attempts to dismantle the religious foundations that maintain forms of exclusion and domination. This revolt invites us to review religious doctrines that may be toxic to humans and other living beings, as they removes us from the common responsibility not only of caring for each other, but also from the different life forms that make Life an adventure of beauty and mystery unavailable to becoming the anyone’s private ownership.
