Antes de ingressar na OIT, desempenhou diversas fun&amp;ccedil;&amp;otilde;es relevantes como economista na OCDE e na academia. &amp;Eacute; tamb&amp;eacute;m Professor na Univeridade Paris-Dauphine e autor de diversos estudos sobre as din&amp;acirc;micas do mercado de trabalho e a globaliza&amp;ccedil;&amp;atilde;o. 	Raymond Torres is currently the Director of the International Institute for Labour Studies of the International Labor Organization. He is responsible for its annual &amp;lsquo;World of Work Report&amp;rsquo;, one of ILO&amp;rsquo;s most important socioeconomic publications. Before joining the ILO, he held several relevant positions as an economist, both in OCDE and in academia. Raymond Torres is also Assistant Professor at the University of Paris-Dauphine and author of several relevant economic studies mostly related to labor market dynamics and globalization. 	Alessandro Ferrara is Professor of Political Philosophy at the University of Rome &amp;ldquo;Tor Vergata&amp;rdquo; and has served as President of the Italian Association for Political Philosophy until 2010. 	Filipe Duarte Santos &amp;eacute; professor catedr&amp;aacute;tico de F&amp;iacute;sica na Faculdade de Ci&amp;ecirc;ncias da Universidade de Lisboa. Desde a d&amp;eacute;cada de 1980 dedica-se sobretudo &amp;agrave; investiga&amp;ccedil;&amp;atilde;o nas Ci&amp;ecirc;ncias do Ambiente e em especial &amp;agrave;s Mudan&amp;ccedil;as Globais e Altera&amp;ccedil;&amp;otilde;es Clim&amp;aacute;ticas. &amp;Eacute; professor convidado de v&amp;aacute;rias universidades prestigiadas dos Estados Unidos da Am&amp;eacute;rica e da Europa. Com cerca de cento e vinte artigos cient&amp;iacute;ficos publicados, coordenou a reda&amp;ccedil;&amp;atilde;o do primeiro e &amp;uacute;nico Livro Branco sobre o Estado do Ambiente em Portugal, publicado em 1991. Integra desde 1998 o Conselho Nacional do Ambiente e do Desenvolvimento Sustent&amp;aacute;vel e &amp;eacute; membro efetivo da Academia das Ci&amp;ecirc;ncias de Lisboa. Foi galardoado com o Pr&amp;eacute;mio Universidade de Lisboa 2008, em reconhecimento da sua carreira cient&amp;iacute;fica e do seu contributo para o desenvolvimento das pol&amp;iacute;ticas p&amp;uacute;blicas nas &amp;aacute;reas do Ambiente e do Desenvolvimento Sustent&amp;aacute;vel. O Prof. Filipe Duarte Santos foi orador convidado no Col&amp;oacute;quio Internacional &amp;#39;Portugal entre Desassossegos e Desafios&amp;#39;, organizado pelo CES em 17 e 18 de Fevereiro de 2011, com uma interven&amp;ccedil;&amp;atilde;o no Painel &amp;#39;Reinventar a economia e viver bem&amp;#39;. Esta entrevista foi realizada por Tiago Santos Pereira e Rita Serra, ambos investigadores do CES.


	Filipe Duarte Santos is Professor of Physics at the Department of Sciences, the University of Lisbon. Since the 1980s, he has been working within the field of Environmental Sciences and especially on issues of Global and Climate Change. He has served as visiting professor in various universities in Europe and the US.&amp;nbsp; He published over 120 scientific articles and, in 1991, coordinated the first and only White Paper on the State of the Environment in Portugal.&amp;nbsp; Since 1998 Prof. Duarte Santos is part of the National Council for Environment and Sustainable Development and is an active member of the Academy of Sciences of Lisbon. In 2008 he was awarded the University of Lisbon Prize, in recognition of his scientific career and his contribution to the development of public policies in the areas of the Environment and Sustainable Development. Prof. Filipe Duarte Santos was a keynote speaker in the international conference &amp;#39;Portugal between Disquiets and Challenges&amp;#39;, organised at CES between the 17th and 18th of February 2011. He presented his contribution in the panel entitled &amp;lsquo;Reinventing the economy and living well&amp;#39;. This interview was carried out by Tiago Santos Pereira and Rita Serra, both researchers at CES.

	Peter Ronald D&amp;#39;Souza &amp;eacute; atualmente diretor do Instituto Indiano de Estudos Avan&amp;ccedil;ados (IIAS). Anteriormente foi investigador s&amp;eacute;nior do Centro para o Estudo das Sociedades em Desenvolvimento (CSDS), onde foi codiretor do programa Lokniti sobre Democracia Comparada. O Professor D&amp;#39;Souza ensinou ci&amp;ecirc;ncia pol&amp;iacute;tica na Universidade de Goa durante 16 anos, tendo chefiado o departamento entre 1996 e 2002. Foi tamb&amp;eacute;m um dos tr&amp;ecirc;s investigadores principais de um estudo comparativo envolvendo cinco na&amp;ccedil;&amp;otilde;es, sobre o Estado da Democracia no Sul da &amp;Aacute;sia (2006), publicado pela Oxford University Press. Foi membro do Research Committe da Associa&amp;ccedil;&amp;atilde;o Internacional de Ci&amp;ecirc;ncia Pol&amp;iacute;tica para a Filosofia Pol&amp;iacute;tica e Sociologia Pol&amp;iacute;tica, e membro da Comiss&amp;atilde;o de Bolsas para Ci&amp;ecirc;ncia Pol&amp;iacute;tica da Universidade. Foi professor visitante em v&amp;aacute;rias universidades, tais como Birkbeck College, Universidade de Londres, Centro Taubman e Kennedy School of Government da Universidade de Harvard. Publicou numerosos artigos e editou v&amp;aacute;rios livros, incluindo a obra &amp;ldquo;Os Partidos Pol&amp;iacute;ticos da &amp;Iacute;ndia&amp;rdquo; (Sage, 2006), e &amp;ldquo;Falando da Morte de Gandhi&amp;rdquo; (com Tripid Suhrud, Orient BlackSwan, 2010).

	O Professor D&amp;rsquo;Souza tem atuado como&amp;nbsp; consultor do Banco Mundial para a Descentraliza&amp;ccedil;&amp;atilde;o Rural e para a quest&amp;atilde;o dos Dalits, Discrimina&amp;ccedil;&amp;atilde;o, e a Luta pela Igualdade de Cidadania; da Funda&amp;ccedil;&amp;atilde;o Ford sobre o Governo Local na &amp;Iacute;ndia; da IDEA Internacional na prepara&amp;ccedil;&amp;atilde;o do manual sobre Avalia&amp;ccedil;&amp;atilde;o da Democracia; da Inter-Uni&amp;atilde;o parlamentar na prepara&amp;ccedil;&amp;atilde;o do Manual de Parlamento no s&amp;eacute;culo XXI; da ICNRD-5 na sua avalia&amp;ccedil;&amp;atilde;o Democracia da Mong&amp;oacute;lia; e ainda do PNUD no estudo sobre a Viol&amp;ecirc;ncia Eleitoral.

	Peter Ronald D&amp;#39;Souza is currently the director of the Indian Institute of&amp;nbsp;Advanced Study (IIAS). Prior to this he was Senior Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) where he was Co-Director of the Lokniti programme on Comparative Democracy. Professor D&amp;#39;Souza taught political science at Goa University for 16 years and headed the department from 1996 to 2002. He also been one of the three principal investigators of a five nation study published by Oxford University Press on the State of Democracy in South Asia (2006). He was a member of the International Political Science Association&amp;#39;s Research Committee on Political Philosophy and Political Sociology, and was a member of the University Grants Commission&amp;#39;s expert panel on Political Science. He has been a visiting scholar in various universities, such as the Birkbeck College, London University, the Taubman Centre, Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. In addition to numerous articles he has edited several books, including India&amp;#39;s Political Parties, (Sage, 2006) and Speaking of Gandhi&amp;rsquo;s Death (with Tripid Suhrud, Orient BlackSwan, 2010).

	Professor D&amp;rsquo;Souza has been a consultant to the World Bank on Rural Decentralization and on Dalits, Discrimination, and the Struggle for Equal Citizenship, to Ford Foundation on Local Government in India, to International IDEA in preparing their handbook on Democracy Assessment, to the Inter-Parliamentary Union in preparing their Handbook on Parliament in the twenty-first Century, to ICNRD-5 in their Democracy Assessment of Mongolia, and to UNDP in their study on Electoral Violence.
